Day of Remembrance

It's been three years since the Indian Ocean Tsunami hit southeast asian countries in 2004. While most of the world have forgotten the displaced, their recovery has been been slow to progress in many areas. As evident from UNICEF's 2007 Tsunami Monitoring Report, while there have been a good amount of progress, most of the displaced have not returned to their original homes. Also seen from AlertNet AidTracker, there are countries (Australia, Austria and Finland to name a few) who still have not fulfilled their pledges.

While we are celebrating these holidays with our families and friends, I think we should all take a moment to remember them and pray for their continued recovery and rehabilitation.
