And, I'm back

Yes, I'm still around. Just a little busy that's all...

A lot has been happening lately. Let's see what I have been upto:

• Bought a Canon EOS Digital Rebel XSi to help me take better pictures. This is my first DSLR and its a different beast altogether. I have a lot to learn.
• Bought a BlueAnt Z9 Bluetooth headset which is somewhat better and somewhat worse than my previous headset.
• Was traveling briefly on business and met an old friend after a loooong time. That was fun.
• Oh yeah, I almost forgot... I'm getting married to Kavitha on 11th May 2008...

I know, I'm excited too... To celebrate our wedding, we launched a new website - www.kaviandbala.com. Go check it out. We have a blog over there as well. I haven't yet decided if I want to keep both blogs up or merge them onto one. I'll decide that after my wedding, I guess...

In the mean time, my updates will be light here as I prepare for my wedding. But fear not, I'll write about travel and my wedding plans when I get back or even when I'm in India - depending on how good a connection I get.

In the last month...

1. I got a new computer (a Dell Latitude D620 laptop) - had to move all my stuff over in a day
   
2. Moved to a new apartment all by myself
3. Got new cable, phone, internet connections
4. Bought all new furniture, appliances, utensils, etc
5. Went to India for a weeklong trip
6. Did a lot of shopping to go to India
7. Accomplished a long lasting wish of mine - that is bring my parents here to the US - Hurray!
8. Did a lot of traveling in the week I was in India - between Chennai to Madurai to Tanjore
9. More shopping now for the US - a couple of 110v appliances and more sweets.
10. Back in the US, and amidst a lot of pending work...

Now I'm sure you wont ask me why I havent been blogging much the past month... :) Let me catch my breath and will be back in a jiffy...

Changes are good, some times

That wasn't hard now, was it?

See, I am too lazy and don't do things until am forced to. As I had explained, there was a lot of spam in this blog and that had forced me to update the template which I wouldn't have done unless that happened. Thanks to Gecko & Fly for the template.

I have also added the Link Blog to side bar. Link Blog is a cool Google Reader feature which I just love. Basically these are blog posts from my Reading List that I have found to be interesting and want to share with you. Instead of blogging about it, I am just gonna "Shift-S" them :)...

Comments are enabled again but only for registered users. I would like to monitor things for a while before I open it up for everyone. I have some quirks to fix here and there but if you find issues with the blog, do let me know.

This blog has been under constant attack from Spammers for the last week or so and I am tired of playing catchup. I have turned commenting off temporarily till they give up or I find some other solution. I thought Google/Blogger had stopped indexing the Blogspot comments so I don't know why the spammers are not quitting spamming the blogger blogs. Anyways, I have to switch to a new template in which I can enable captcha like spam control (which I hate, but I see no other option).
