Bits and Pieces

  1. There was a recent "terrorist" attack in IISc, Bangalore where 'assailants' killed Prof Puri of IIT Delhi and injured a few other professors there. A very sad incident in the IT capital of India where the Police seem to be lacking even very basic intelligence capabilities. As a side note, it was funny to see an article on Rediff India, which talked about how a cop has "predicted" this attack almost an year ago. The cop pretty much said like 'Being the IT capital of India, Bangalore is a soft target for terrorists" -- first off, that's hardly a prediction and second off, anyone could have said that. Our media should get better at investigating stories and reporting rather than "manufacturing" them.
  2. As part of the Tsunami Anniversary, a bunch of us SEA-EAT bloggers were interviewed by the always-ahead-of-the-rest Guardian UK and they have their article up on their Guardian Blog here.
  3. 'Tis the season for debuting new bloggers. I seem to have played a tiny little part in influencing my ex-roommate & friend Vaidy to start a blog and boy, he has landed in the blogosphere with a bang.
  4. And, Happy New Year 2006 to everyone and their friends. Albeit, it is delayed by a second this year.
  5. Oh, one more thing... Guess, who called me this morning to wish Happy New Year and took me by surprise. Our very own Angelo. It was nice to finally associate a voice to someone who I know for almost an year.
