Mumbai Attacks: Draft Manifesto

Draft Manifesto
Interesting manifesto apparently drafted by Rahul Mehra, a Supreme Court lawyer and Prem Panicker. Although I'm not sure I agree with it about not voting and not paying taxes - it still nevertheless offers great and stern and immediate things our government must do. Extreme times require extreme measures and this is one and I endorse it.

Mumbai Attacks: How I Feel

Can't express my anger and angst any better than Jon Stewart and John Oliver do in the video below:

I'll have more thoughts on this later.

New York City Waterfalls

I have been meaning to post these pictures that I took of the New York City Waterfalls last month but never got around to actually doing it. All pictures were taken using my Canon Digital Rebel XSi and a tripod.

R.I.P. Good Times?

A. Have you been worried about all the horrible news about the economic crisis?
B. Do you work in a Startup?

If you answered yes to both A and B, this presentation would not make you feel any better:

Windows 7 vs Apple Snow Leopard

Microsoft is hard at work at Vista's successor, named as Windows 7. So is Apple, who are also working on their next OS - Mac OS X Snow Leopard. Here's a comparison of sorts from The Onion, who news are increasingly becoming real.

Yes. He. Did.

I jumped on the Barack Obama Bandwagon early. And I have watched this US Election more closely than I'd like to admit to. It has been one hell of a race. I'm pretty sure I'd be telling my grand-kids about Barack Hussein Obama, the 44th President of the United States of America, years from now.

While Barack Obama still has not done anything that's gonna change my life or that matter others, he has inspired millions of people not just here in America but all over the world to believe in the fact if you dream about something and work toward it methodically, you can pretty much do anything. He's the standing proof of that. Of course, his administration may end up being a dud altogether but I somehow doubt that it will.

I always wondered, what would it have felt like to live during the times of great leaders like Mahatma Gandhi, Martin Luther King Jr. Now, I think we are living during the times of Barack Obama.

Why Vista Sucks: Part #3765

Today, I get an update from Microsoft. Here's what the update says:

Oh goodie. Let's see what the update is about. Oopsie... Here's what I get now, in case MS decides to fix this link in the future:

Not available? Doesn't MS Windows group talk to its own website group to make sure an article gets published before it gets pused to Windows Update?

What if he is a Muslim?

That was the response Gen. Colin Powell gave to the question: Is Barack Obama a Muslim? I always wonder why doesn't Obama answer the question the same way.

His 7-minute response why he decided to endorse Obama is definitely a must-watch:

Also here's the photo essay that he said inspired that Powell talks about:

I'm a PC and I love Macs

You have gotta hand it to Apple. They know Industrial Design, period. Jobs unveiled Apple's latest set of Notebooks and I've got my eye on the 15-inch MacBook Pro. That may very well be my next notebook (if it runs Windows Vista using Bootcamp).

Oh yeah, the whole back-and-forth between Apple and Microsoft about "I'm a PC" and "I'm a Mac" is kinda silly. I use PC as a main home and work computer but I love Macs. I use them occasionally at work and love some of the things they have on Mac. Obvioulsy I hate some of quirks that exist on Mac (Visual Studio beats XCode hands-and-pants down, for example), just like I hate some of the bloatware that runs on Windows (*Cough*Media Player*Cough*). But the notion that you have to hate one to like other is kinda silly, if you ask me.

Vote!

I know I can't vote here in the US Presidential Election, but I have voted once in my life in my home country and that day was a proud happy day for me as I exercised my civic duty. I hope you also vote, if you are eligible, irrespective of which candidate you support.

Year of Heavy Losses

New York Times, which is my favorite News Website by far, has a nice infographic showing the losses that Wall Street firms have had in the past year.
